I am a native North Carolinian and have traveled extensively throughout
the United States, including spending three years in Hawaii and a year on Guam. I have previously worked in the fields of local government, banking, and law. Currently I work in Web design for a large computer software company.
My first book,
Musings from a
Healing Heart, is a very personal book which describes my incredible journey
during the last decade – a time in which I came out of a fog of denial and resumed my life in the real world. It wasn't easy, and I hope my message of hope and faith will help others as they struggle to survive and live in an imperfect world.
I am an avid reader, and enjoy knitting and counted cross-stitch and watching almost any kind of spectator sports. I am an active member of my Methodist church and am especially passionate about the Stephen Ministries program there. I have been trained as both a Stephen Minister and a Stephen Leader, and other leaders and I conduct classes yearly to train new Stephen Ministers. For more information on this special ministry, visit the Stephen Ministries Web site.

| My beloved goldens – Sam (left) and Butter.

Another thing I am passionate about is my dogs. For 12 years, I was
blessed to have two golden retrievers, Biscuit and Rascal, share my life. They were the one constant in my life during my decade of change – through the good times and the bad, the ups and the downs, the joy and the sadness. Unfortunately, Biscuit and Rascal are both gone now. Since then, at different times, I have adopted two goldens from the local golden retriever rescue club. Samantha (Sam) is nine and Butter is three, and they are wonderful additions to my life. They bring me joy every day and ask nothing in return. But as much as I love them both, they will never replace Biscuit and Rascal – whose pawprints are forever imbedded on my heart.
